No worries! The 2007 Cadillac Escalade will be arriving soon, but not soon enough for those prestigious holiday gifts. Expect the all-new Caddy sometime in the first quarter of 2006. Until then save up some loot and keep window shopping. And if you don’t have cash to burn like Oprah during the holidays, then loosen up a tooth, tuck it under the pillow and wish for a miracle!

Cadillac knows a good thing once they see it, and finally get comfortable with it. The Escalade, a hot item ticket for parent General Motors, is being touted across the board as a highly regarded celebrity vehicle. So much so that Cadillac actually held design focus groups with celebs to evaluate their opinion in the early developmental stages of the luxury SUV. So what you get is probably what they saw! And that includes softer lines, a 16-piece mesh grille in the form of a shield (borrowed from the Cadillac Sixteen concept), seven layers of chrome, standard 18s and available chrome 22s, and an interior that is far superior to its predecessor. “Since its inception, Escalade has been an icon – the vehicle discerning customers aspire to own. The ‘07 model raises the bar with exceptional exterior style, interior refinement, increased performance and enhanced ride and handling smoothness,” said Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager.

To preview the ’07 Escalade, which is derived from GM’s new full-size SUV platform, Cadillac hosted the official launch party in Beverly Hills with some of Hollywood’s finest. Dubbed “Escalade on Rodeo,” the event was hosted by Oscar-winner Adrien Brody and supported by the presence of Jadakiss, Paris Hilton, John Salley, Styles P, Vida Guerra, and funny man Eddie Griffin.

From our perspective, the vehicle is well crafted and well thought out. The interior’s new center stack features a bigger 8-inch touch-control LCD screen, rearview camera, walnut burlwood, and a triple leather laced steering wheel. The 3 rd row is roomy enough for adults, as I was as comfortable as a baby tucked in its crib. It folds but does not lay flush on the floor due to the vehicle’s independent rear suspension. Yet, the second row power folds and tumbles. Other powered items include the tailgate and running boards. Its engine jumped from 345-horsepower to 403-horsepower! Cadillac is using the powerful 6.2-liter aluminum V8 mated to a new VVT 6-speed automatic transmission.

Celebrities or not, the 2007 Escalade will definitely flood the streets next year. The Super Bowl MVP will be awarded one for sure says Cadillac! So make sure to hit up your local Caddy dealer for reservations. In the Washington D.C. area, check out Capitol Cadillac at www.capitolcadillac.com.
