Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance: Saturn, Don't Tease Us Again!

By: Brian Armstead, 11.20.04

General Motors, this time exclusively Saturn, has done it again. They have the blood of Automotive Rhythms on boil, and there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it. Nada, zippo, nothing. So what’s up? We were invited to beautiful Hilton Head, South Carolina to preview upcoming offerings from Saturn. The only problem is that all the information we gathered is embargoed until after the grand introduction at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this coming January. No hot photos. No advance word on horsepower or specifications. Nothing.

Oh well. Here is what we do know – the new whips from Saturn and from Caddy (see “Cadillac and Saturn Hold it Down at Pebble Beach”) are all that. We are especially happy for Saturn, who have built sturdy but uninspired rides over the years. Well, the gloves are off, and Saturn is getting ready to get jiggy with it. Think of “Tito” Trinidad on the comeback trail – once a champ, then knocked out of the ring, and then a champ again. You’ll see come January that Saturn is rolling with the same flow. Tune back to AutomotiveRhythms.com regularly for updates on what’s new from the General.

Until then, we’ve got some phat photos of classics from the Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance. Our host GM was a platinum sponsor, and they rolled out the red carpet for Automotive Rhythms.

This was the 3rd annual Concours at Hilton Head, and based on the quality of the cars showed, it will be a force on the concours circuit.
