Laced Up Expands Its Rare Collection
Laced Up, the elusively popular sneaker boutique that sits at 572 Edgewood amidst the artistic district in the newly developed Edgewood Village is expanding its collection of rare sneaker collectibles by launching a clothing line. In the grand tradition of the sneakers they carry, the limited edition clothing line bearing the Laced Up logo, includes a variety of trendy warm-up jackets, long sleeved and short sleeved T's as well as a variety of fitted T's for the ladies.
Owned by two young African American men, Ernel Dawkins and J.C. Collier, Laced Up has quietly gained momentum as the sneaker haven of choice amongst the celebrity sector of Atlanta, •lacing up' kicks for the likes of Outkast's Big Boi, rapper T.I., Baltimore Raven's Jamal Lewis, and Clinton Portis of the Washington Redskins, to name a few. "Our clientele is a part of an ever-growing populace of true sneaker-heads worldwide that have somewhat incited a movement of authenticity, creativity, and motivated by distinction,” says Ernel Dawkins. The owners attribute the success of Laced Up to the true to life fertility of the progressive Atlanta community and encourage other young people to set their sights high, and meet their goals. "I am enjoying the love the Atlanta community continues to show us and hope that other young people will effectively use their resources to seek out fruitful business opportunities for themselves,” says J.C. Collier.
